2007 Honda Fit - Wallpapers, Photos, Reviews, Pics, Specifications WHAT HONDA HAS TO SAY ABOUT THIS CAR: Image/Text Source: Honda Impressively Big Smallness Looks can be deceiving. Take the Honda Fit, our all-new 5-door. One glance at this impetuous, bite-sized wonder and you just might think, "The Fit is Go!" Well, you'd be right of course. But with the Fit, there's so much more. Neither psychics nor seasoned palm readers could predict just how much room there is inside the Fit. An innovative 60/40 split 2nd-row Magic Seat® allows for four distinct interior configurations. And the Fit has even more to make you smile, like a 109-horsepower, 1.5-liter, VTEC® engine; legendary Honda safety, including standard front, front side and side curtain airbags; plenty of storage compartments; and a super-friendly starting price of $13,850. Sure, the Fit is a blast to drive. But did you know that the Fit also respects Mother Nature? For three decades,
Honda has played a leading role in meeting the environmental challenge.
Our approach has always focused on those vehicle and fuel options we
believe have the greatest real-world potential. The goal is not engineering
prizes or newspaper headlines. The goal is to make environmentally friendlier
products that our customers want to buy because the products are easy
to own and fun to drive. Its 1.5-liter, 16-valve SOHC VTEC® engine, along with the Drive-by-Wire Throttle System, provides remarkable fuel economy. In fact, the Fit and the Fit Sport equipped with 5-speed manual transmission, both achieve 33 city/38 highway mpg.* And all Fit models run on regular unleaded gas. *The 5-speed automatic Fit gets 31/38 mpg and the 5-speed automatic Fit Sport gets 31/37 mpg. All mpg figures are based on 2007 mileage estimates. Use for comparison purposes only. Actual mileage may vary. The 1.5-liter, 16-valve VTEC® engine gives the Fit a generous amount of horsepower in relation to its size and impressive fuel economy. A hundred and five pound-feet of torque at a low 4800 rpm means drivers can enjoy quick acceleration and low noise levels, creating a comfortable driving experience. The Fit sports a 109-hp, 1.5-liter engine with Honda's VTEC® technology, which ups power and torque at any engine speed. The Fit also features a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System to control power delivery and ensure smooth acceleration. And Sport models equipped with the 5-speed automatic transmission feature F1-style, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for even greater control. On Automatic Transmission Sport models, the steering wheel includes paddle shifters, like those used on Formula One race cars, which allow the driver to shift the car manually. Fast responding electronics take the place of a traditional throttle cable and produce greater response, fuel economy and driveability with minimum adjustment and maintenance. It's a jungle out there. So we provide a host of advanced safety features to make sure you're safe and sound. In addition to front and side airbags, each and every Fit comes equipped with side curtain airbags which deploy in a sufficient side impact to help lessen head and neck injuries to front and rear passengers. The Fit also features three-point seat belts at all 5 seating positions. Plus the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system makes installing and using compatible child seats easy and convenient. All five seating positions in the Fit, including the rear center seat, have 3-point seat belts. Front and rear passengers' belts also house an auto-locking retractor mechanism for child-seat installation. In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. Plus the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it. Fit's anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking. The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) mounting system for use with compatible child seats. The side curtain
airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the
event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help
provide protection for both front and rear passengers. A new type of
inflator provides an exceptionally quick inflation time. OUR TAKE ON THE 2007 HONDA FIT: The new Honda Fit becomes what the Civic once was, an ultra compact and economically viable hatchback that saves money on gasoline. The new Fit is a classic example of Honda engineering that has propelled the company to a top selling import automotive manufacturer, and in the upcoming days of high gas prices, the Honda Fit should expect to sell well in this market. The big competition for the Honda Fit comes from the all new Toyota Yaris, which may hurt sales for the Honda Fit due to its fresh new sculpted styling and entrance to the US market this year. THE HONDA FIT COMPETES WITH: 2006 Toyota Yaris, 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, 2006 Ford Focus, 2007 Nissan Sentra, Mazda 3, 2008 Scion xD Also see these other Honda vehicles: Honda Accord, Honda S2000, Honda Ridgeline, 2007 Honda Civic Type R, Honda Civic SI, 2009 Honda FCX Clarity RELATED ARTICLES, REVIEWS AND SITES:
